Man dies in Monaghan crash

A man in his 50s died following a road traffic incident yesterday in Castleblaney.

The incident happened on the N2 at Drumcrew road at approximately 4 o' clock, when a car left the road and crashed into a wooden fence.

The man, who was the driver of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda. 

A female passenger in the car was uninjured.
