Major fuel laundering plant discovered in Monaghan.

A 42 year old man has been arrested after a large oil laundering plant was uncovered in Co Monaghan.

Revenue officials and Gardai, acting on intelligence, made the discovery at Drumboat, Inniskeen, last night.

The plant had the capacity to launder approximately 20 million litres of fuel per annum, with a potential loss to the exchequer of €10.5 million.

A quantity of toxic waste was also found at the site.

The man who was arrested is being questioned at Carrickmacross Garda station.
