Macron poised for French presidential election victory

French voting is well underway in one of the most divisive elections ever.

Emmanuel Macron is poised to take victory from far-Right Front National candidate Marine Le Pen.

From the last poll on Friday, he was ahead at 63 per cent of the vote to 37.

Emmanuel Macron, a pro-EU centrist, is firmly ahead of candidate far-right Marine Le Pen in the polls – though she still hopes to upset the establishment with a shock result similar to the Brexit vote.

Results of the poll will be gauged through an exit poll at 7pm tonight.

The election comes after a massive hacking attack on Mr Macron’s campaign database over the weekend which saw hundreds of thousands of private emails and official documents dumped online.

It’s remains to be seen if this can damage Macron, and if so whether it could do so in any way that would affect who will become the next president of France.
