Lowering tax rate is priority for Trump

Donald Trump's economic advisor says lowering the country's tax rate is one of the President-elect's top priorities.

Stephen Moore says the new administration wants to reduce the rate from 35 percent, to between 15 and 20 per cent in the first 100 days in office.

The move aims to keep companies in the US but also lure multinationals away from countries like Ireland and back to the States.

Mr Moore says despite this – it could actually benefit Ireland in the long run.
