Long wait for occupational therapist assessment

Over 100 Tipperary teenagers have been waiting for more than a year for an occupational therapy assessment.

Latest figures show a substantial increase in the number of children across the country waiting for assessment with over 25,500 on the list last April, an increase of over 5,000 since August of last year.

According to local Fianna Fail TD Jackie Cahill there are 113 people in Tipperary under the age of 18 who have been waiting over 12 months for their first assessment by an occupational therapist.
