The County Council has confirmed that all contracts have been signed and were fully executed on Tuesday clearing the way for the contractor to start the design process.
It's a two year project which has been in the pipeline since the 60's but its expected the programme of works will be submitted very shortly.
Local Fine Gael Councillor Marie Murphy is confident its full steam ahead now.
