The long winter takes a financial toll on Tipp County Council

The extended winter has resulted in significant costs for local authorities across Tipperary.

The rain, frost and snow caused considerable damage to roads in Tipperary.

This months meeting of the Clonmel Borough District heard that an application has been made to central government to cover the additional costs incurred in the area.

District Engineer Eamon Lonergan says the poor weather could have serious repercussions on their budget later in the year.
