Live register figures fall in Tipp

The number of people on the Live Register in Tipperary has fallen by over sixteen hundred in the last 12 months.

However latest CSO figures show there are still nearly 10,800 people signing on in the Premier County.

Just one of the eight social welfare offices in Tipperary recorded an increase in the numbers signing on last month.

Roscrea – with 1,001 – was up 30.

The biggest decrease was also in the North of the County with a reduction of 43 in Thurles where there are now 2,101 on the Live Register.

In South Tipp the biggest decrease was in Clonmel with a fall of 30 to 1,864.

Overall there was a drop of 149 county wide last month with a total of 10,799 on the Live Reg according to the Central Statistics Office.

Year on year there was a reduction 1,603 in the 12 months since April 2016.
