Labour Minister says the latest opinion poll is encouraging for the party.

Enda Kenny's party now holds an 8-point lead over Fianna Fail, which is up 1 to 20 – while Sinn Féin's unchanged on 18.

There's also a slight rise in support for independent candidates, who are on 19 percent.

Education Minister Jan O'Sullivan says it's going in the right direction for Labour.
