Kenny to meet O’Sullivan over gangland killings

But Enda Kenny says an international joint policing operation is needed to properly tackle the latest wave of killings.

Yesterday 29-year-old Gareth Hutch became the seventh person to be murdered since last September – after a fall-out between two rival drug gangs.

A man in his 20s is still being questioned by Gardaí over yesterday's attack and searches have been carried out.

In the Dáil this morning the Taoiseach says the latest killings were directed from overseas, and Gardaí can't end the feud alone.

But he said he would meet Noirin O'Sullivan this evening to discuss the resources available to Gardaí to play their part.
