Joint Policing Committee meeting to discuss anti-social behaviour and drug dealing in Clonmel

In what's likely to be the last meeting of the committee in Clonmel ahead of the local elections and the abolition of the urban authority – criminal activity in certain parts of town are likely to dominate proceedings.

Local representatives will be discussing with senior officers problems with drug dealing, littering and anti social behaviour in a number of areas including Cooleens Close and Wilderness/Carrigeen.

There are also a number of motions before committee including a call for the Borough Council request to the Justice Minister to increase garda numbers in Clonmel to allow for more foot patrols in the town centre – the proposal by Councillor Helena McGee also calls for additional community gardai to police local housing states.
