Irish Water under fire over Tipperary sewerage problems.

Irish Water is being called on to continue looking after public sewage pipes in Clonmel even if they are running through private property.

Residents in a number of housing estates in the town say the Borough Council carried out repairs in the past when pipes became blocked.

However since Irish Water took over from the local authority the onus is being put back on householders to have repairs carried out.

Local Councillor Richie Molloy claims the new utility company is trying to avoid having to deal with a multitude of problems down the line.
