An internal investigation has been launched into who was responsible for sending the message in the closing hours of polling day.
It called on members to vote instead for Jackie Cahill who subsequently took the seat for Fianna Fail in Tipperary but he's denied any involvement.
Speaking on Tipp Today Michael Smith doesn't know if the text – clarified by HQ within 50 minutes – had an impact- but is disgusted by the action.
