It's understood he fell from a height while working at a cement factory in Ferrybank just after four o'clock yesterday afternoon.
The man – said to be in his 40's was treated at the scene – however he was later pronounced dead.
Two separate investigations have been launched into his death by Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority.
