Investigation into Clonmel fires

Clonmel Gardaí are appealing for information after over a dozen fires were set across the town overnight. 

Nobody was injured in any of the fires which were mostly started in wheelie bins but investigating officers are treating the incidents are very serious.

The first blaze was discovered shortly before half two this morning in the bottle bank of St Mary's GAA club…while several more were found shortly afterwards at McDermott's Londis, along the Western Road, Cherrymount, the Cahir road and the Ballingarrane estate. 

In total, there were over a dozen suspicious fires. 

Nobody was injured in any of the incidents and there was no major property damage however the potential for serious harm was there and Gardaí are treating the fires as very serious
