IMNO delegates gather for conference

Over 300 nurses and midwives gather for their annual conference in Killarney today to discuss the ongoing difficulties in the health service.

Low pay and overcrowding takes centre stage as well as the aftermath of the political discussions.

General Secretary of the I-N-M-O Liam Doran says the health crisis should have been the focus of their talks.

The overcrowding crisis at South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel, along with the University Hospital in Limerick which covers North Tipperary, has consistently seen the number of people being treated on trolleys in the high 20s.
