IFI asked to reverse fish farm decision

Sinn Féin is seeking an urgent meeting with IFI over its decision to phase out the organisations hatcheries in Roscrea, West Cork, Mayo and Westmeath.

The fish farms produce trout hatchlings which are used to stock rivers and lakes throughout Ireland.

Ireland South MEP Liadh Ní Riada says this would impact majorly on tourism in Tipperary given the popularity of angling on Lough Derg and the River Suir.
