Human rights groups are accusing Ireland of failing the victims of sex trafficking.

It's claimed Ireland's legal sex trade makes it an attractive country for human traffickers.

The Immigrant Council of Ireland is warning that our laws need to be tightened to prevent the sexual exploitation of more than two-thirds of those trafficked here.

A new report prepared for the European Commission, claims the industry is worth around 150 million euro a year to organised crime and victims aren't being identified fast enough.

The latest study also calls for the appointment of an Independent Rapporteur, who would ensure the Irish Government is up to date with the latest European regulations.
