HSE again reaffirms commitment to Dean Maxwell Home

For the third time this year, the HSE has issued a statement saying that there is no threat of bed closures at the Dean Maxwell Home in Roscrea.

The HSE met with representatives of the Friends of Dean Maxwell Community Nursing unit in Roscrea yesterday, to address fears regarding bed numbers at the facility.

They have again said that the unit is not listed for closures, and that any closure of beds is as a result of cuts to staff, which is an overall circumstance of the health service.

They also say that the palliative care capacity of the unit, which has 2 beds, is not in question and will be maintained.

The also say that they intend to secure further bed numbers for the provision of services in North Tipp.
