HSE admit action needed to ease overcrowding at South Tipp General

There have been repeated calls for Our Lady's in Cashel to be used as a step-down facility to ease the overcrowding situation in Clonmel.

Much of the Cashel hospital has been vacant for many years following the relocation of services to Clonmel.

The issue was raised at this months meeting of the Health Forum by local representative Tom Wood.

He says Chief Operations Officer Ger O'Callaghan admitted something had to change.
