Almost €145,000 was awarded to 130 Tipperary community projects last year under the Community Enhancement Programme.
The Department of Rural and Community Development funding allows groups to improve facilities in disadvantaged areas.
Mayor of Clonmel Councillor Garret Ahearn says the money is a major benefit for small community projects and plans to push for further funding for 2020.
