History is being made in the Templemore Garda College today as the Taoiseach and several senior cabinet ministers visit the Tipperary facility
It comes as 100 new recruits enter the training centre – the third batch since last summer.
Five Tipperary students are among the latest group to start training.
It’s the first time that a Taoiseach has addressed the students at the Garda College.
The Tánaiste Joan Burton and Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald are also at the college today.
Enda Kenny is due to address the students shortly after he completes a tour of the training facility.
Earlier the Taoiseach was met with a group of protestors as he attended an event in Saint Patricks College in Thurles.
