High levels of overcrowding in UHL today

Staff and patients at University Hospital Limerick – which serves North Tipperary – are dealing with chronic levels of overcrowding today.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are 55 patients without a bed at the Dooradoyle hospital today.

36 of these are on trolleys or chairs around the Emergency Department while there are 19 in overflow areas of wards.

Nationally there are 264 patients in a similar situation with 9 of these at South Tipp General in Clonmel.
