Major overcrowding at Tipp’s main hospital

There are 30 patients without a bed at South Tipp General Hospital this afternoon.

The emergency department in Clonmel is the most overcrowded in the country outside of Dublin where the Mater has 45 people on trolleys.

The ED in Limerick is slightly better with 19 people waiting for beds.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses & Midwives Organisation show there are 325 patients nationwide who don’t have a bed.
