Hard water issues in Thurles need to be resolved quickly

Irish Water is being urged to speed up its review of capital projects so the Thurles Regional Water Supply system can be up and running as soon as possible.

There has been a persistent problem with lime for many years but the situation has deteriorated in the past 24 months as 2 town wells with hard water now provide the main public supply.

Major works on the Thurles scheme has been completed and Local Fianna Fáil councillor Seamus Hanafin is urging Irish Water to complete the project as soon as possible.
