It comes after Ireland was found to be in direct breach of the EU’s Working Time Directive by the Advocate General, as training hours were not classed as work.
The opinion was published ahead of a full judgment later this year, however, in 8 out of 10 cases the view of the Advocate General is confirmed in a full judgment.
