As the 4 day weekend begins, many people will be travelling this afternoon to visit family and friends for the holiday…with increased traffic expected across the county's roads.
Operation Surround, targeting drink drivers, is in place across the region with increased checkpoints throughout the coming days.
So far this year, one person has been killed on Tipperary's roads.
Garda Niamh Dooley of the Cahir Traffic Corps says drivers planning on travelling a long distance; need to plan accordingly for their trip.
