Further union votes at Bausch and Lomb.

Members of the T-E-E-U working at Bausch and Lomb will vote today on revised cost saving proposals put forward by management.

The new deal would see the 1100 staff in Waterford take a pay cut of 7.5 per cent, as well as an increase in productivity and changes to the company's sick pay scheme.

200 voluntary redundancies are also being sought at the contact lens manufacturer.

Yesterday, members of the trade union SIPTU, which represents the majority of staff at the plant, voted to accept the cuts.
