Further talks planned over beef price row.

The meat industry and farm groups have agreed to engage in talks over the next two weeks aimed at resolving a dispute over beef prices.

Farmers staged a 24-hour blockade of meat factories on Monday – including at ABP plants in Nenagh and Cahir and the Ashbourne Meats plant in Roscrea – because of the price difference between Ireland and the UK.

IFA President Eddie Downey says there's no explanation as to why cattle in the UK are worth more money.
