A joint-service was held for cousins Olivia Burke and 22-year-old Irish-American Ashley Donohoe last weekend – with both families coming together to mourn the loss of young women who were described as “twins”.
Both families are united again in Foxrock today for Olivia’s funeral – ahead of burial in Deansgrange Cemetery.
The 21-year-old Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology student was known as a lover of music – and her favourite artist Hozier played the recessional hymn.
Some ten kilometres away, hundreds more gathered to pay their final respects to Niccolai Schuster.
The UCD Student’s coffin was given a guard of honour by former class and teammates of St Mary’s – some of whom wore jerseys bearing his surname.
