Full review of security measures at Dáil protest

Noirin O'Sullivan met with the Committee on Procedures and Privilege in the Dáil this morning after a number of Oireachtas members were stopped in their cars coming to and from the Dáil.

Carrick on Suir Labour Senator Denis Landy and his party colleague Mary Moran had to abandon their cars on the street when protestors refused to let them leave Leinster House while former Minister Alan Shatter's car was surrounded as he tried to enter the Dáil,

The Commissioner acknowledged the constitutional right of Oireachtas members to come to and go from government buildings and said she expected there would be a number of arrests in the wake of Wednesday's protests, with a number of people having already been questioned.
