Frontline staff under pressure in A&Es

Over 400 people are on trolleys at hospitals across the country.

According to the INMO – University Hospital Galway is the most overcrowded with 38 people in need of a bed.

University Hospital Limerick – which serves North Tipp – is next with 35 people on trolleys and overflow areas of wards. 

At South Tipp General in Clonmel there are 28 patients waiting for a bed this lunchtime.
