Theresa May will meet Taoiseach Enda Kenny at Government Buildings for a discussion on Brexit and Northern Ireland.
She will only be on Irish soil for about two hours in total, but a major security operation has swung into action.
Government Buildings and the streets around it will be on lockdown for the British Prime Minister's first visit here.
Ahead of her trip she's been meeting the leaders of devolved governments in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland in Cardiff where she's been telling them they will not play a leading role in the negotiations on Brexit.
When she sits down with Enda Kenny this afternoon the discussions will be informal as neither side is allowed to negotiate until article 50 is triggered by the UK government but they are also likely to discuss how they can maintain the common travel area and no return to the borders of the past between north and south.
