Final Meeting of South Tipp Council takes place

The first elections to the council were held in 1899 – it will be abolished as part of local government reform after this months local elections when a new Tipperary County Council will take over governance of the entire county.

Among the former members attending todays gathering in the Chambers of Clonmel Borough Council was Colm O'Donnell who was first elected to the council for the Cahir area in 1950.
