Final discussions ahead of tomorrow’s Budget

Discussions over when pension and welfare hikes will kick in are continuing, with one day to go to the budget.

Reports in the Irish Independent today claim Fine Gael wants the improvements to take effect in May, but Fianna Fail wants the payments to jump in January.

All will be revealed in speeches from the Ministers for Finance and Public Expenditure tomorrow.
