Fianna Fail set to add woman to ticket in Tipperary

Former ICMSA President Jackie Cahill emerged victorious from last nights selection convention where he saw off the challenge of four other potential candidates including Clonmel's Siobhán Ambrose and Coalbrook's Imelda Goldsboro.

He says the size of Tipperary means a second Fianna Fáil candidate is almost certain in order to get a geographical balance.

Given the 30% gender quota Jackie Cahill expects that the Central Executive will add either Councillor Goldsboro or Ambrose to the ticket.
