Farmers urged to cut down dead trees

The warning from Gardaí follows a narrow escape for one driver yesterday evening when a tree toppled over and hit her car on the Ballinure to Dualla road.

She was badly shaken but was not seriously injured in the incident.

Recent rainfall may have loosened the earth around the trees that may already be unstable following the storms that hit the county earlier this year.

South Tipperary IFA Chairman Simon Ryan says if the tree is dead it should come down but farmers can’t be expected to remove every tree that grows along the roadside
