Farmers urge action on easing US restrictions for beef

The Minister for Agriculture is today in Chicago to promote Irish beef in the US.

In January, a 15 year ban on Irish beef was lifted in the US.

But the IFA says there are still roadblocks preventing Irish farmers from getting their produce onto American shelves.

IFA President Eddie Downey, says despite the high standards of traceability observed in the Irish market, some beef farmers are still facing difficulties selling meat in the US.
