In a statement the electricity supplier says its reservoirs are deep and fast flowing with uneven ground making them extremely dangerous for swimming.
These include the headrace and tailrace canal near the Tipperary – Clare border where there have been several drowning tragedies including the death of a 17 year old last summer.
