Employment levels reach a near five year high.

The Jobs Minister has welcomed the new figures showing the number of people at work hasn't been as high since the end of 2009.

The Central Statistics Office says over 1.9 million people are now at work.

Unemployment's also continuing to fall nationally – but there was a sharp rise in the Western region in the second quarter of the year.

Minister Bruton says the focus has to be on continuing to create jobs rather than wage increases.
