Efforts to cut Tipperary’s energy spend

€18.6 million has been allocated to 29 different community energy initiatives across the country, including 4 in Tipperary.

The biggest grant for the Premier County is €1.4 million for a community run co-op to carry out retrofits on 200 homes and two community halls in the north of the county

Gearoid Fitzgibbon is from the Energy Communities Tipperary Cooperative Ltd and says the aim of the scheme is to save some of the €80 million that's spent on energy in the county every year.
