Dublin Bus drivers state case for pay rise

Dublin Bus drivers say they deserve a pay rise now that the company is making money again.

They rejected an offer of an 8.25 per cent wage increase and are instead looking for 15 per cent.

Driver Fran McDonald says they deserve a wage hike for the tough job they do.

There was traffic chaos in Dublin earlier on day 1 of the bus drivers strike.

Drivers downed tools at midnight last night for a two day stoppage.

There's been heavy criticism of the Transport Minister for how he's handled the situation.

Dermot O'Leary of the National Bus and Rail Union says angry commuters should lay their blame at the Minister's feet.
