A planning application has been lodged with Tipperary County Council for a housing development in Clonmel.
While there has been a steady flow of planning applications for one off houses across County Tipperary, there has been a distinct lack of proposals for housing estates.
However one South Tipp company has taken the decision to apply for permission to build a number of houses on the eastern outskirts of Clonmel.
Locally based Morrissey Construction Ltd has this week lodged a planning application with Tipperary County Council.
The proposals are for 7 detached dwellings at Moangarriff together with associated site development works including roads, footpaths and underground services.
The application is currently at the pre-validation stage with the planning authority with a decision due in early January.
A previous application to the then Clonmel Borough Council in the name of Morrissey Construction in 2010 for 7 houses at Moangarriff was deemed withdrawn.
