Delay on Lansdowne Road agreement

The Social Protection Minister says until a new public pay commission reports, the Lansdowne Road agreement will be stuck too.

The cabinet is discussing plans for the pay commission – though it won't make a report to government until next summer.

It comes as teachers and Gardaí are both preparing to strike over pay restoration.

Leo Varadkar says until after the commissions report, Lansdowne Road is the only agreement in town.
