The Government’s under continuing pressure over the roll-out of the cards.
The Data Protection Commissioner last night joined the debate – calling for more transparency on how the Government’s using data collected through the card.
Concerns have also been raised over the mandatory use of the PSC to collect state benefits.
Fianna Fáil says the public needs reassurance on the issue, while Sinn Féin wants the Taoiseach to clarify the long term plans for the card.
