Investigations are underway into a spate of burglaries in South Tipperary.
Gardaí are particularly anxious to trace the movements of an Audi car which was spotted in the Carrick on Suir area yesterday.
The car is possibly linked to burglaries at 6 houses which happened between 1 o’clock yesterday afternoon and midnight last night.
Three of them were in housing estates in Clonmel.
2 of these were to houses in the Auburn Close estate in the Cashel Road area.
Supt Willie Leahy says a number of people were seen in the area at the time.
The third incident in Clonmel was at a house in the Springfields estate off the Powerstown Road. A quantity of cash was taken from the house sometime between 6.30pm and midnight.
There were also a number of burglaries in the area around Carrick on Suir.
One of these was at Wilmor Cottages on the Ballyrichard Road with another in the nearby Oaklands estate.
A third burglary is under investigation at a house in Ballinacloona near Lisadobber on the Carrick to Glenbower Road.
Gardaí believe the six break-ins are linked.
Supt Leahy says they’re particularly keen to track down a car seen in the area yesterday.
Later reports suggest that Audi may have been silver in colour.
