Councillor Michael O'Meara raised the issue at a recent meeting of the Nenagh Municipal District with the proposal now going forward to a full council meeting.

He wants a low interest loan of up to €20 million which would be paid back over 20 years.

The Rathcabbin based Councillor says temporary patching is a false economy.

He claims the best approach is to carry out proper long lasting repairs.
