Council won’t contact Rental Accomodation Scheme Tenants over Water Charges

Tipperary County Council will not be contacting Rental Accomodation Scheme tenants in relation to water charges.

The local authority has decided not to take follow Wicklow and Meath County Councils who wrote to RAS tenants advising them that they could face eviction if they do not pay their water charges.

At this weeks meeting of the Tipperary – Cashel Municipal District the Director of Housing with the County Council was asked if they would be taking a similar approach.

Clare Curley said the issue of water charges was one for the individual tenant and not for the local authority.
