Congratulations offered to new Bishop

Father Fintan Monahan who ministered in the Archdiocese of Tuam for over 25 years takes up his new position with immediate effect.

Father Monaghan, who was part of the teaching staff at Saint Jarlath’s College, also served as Diocesan Secretary since 2006.

He takes over the role from Kieran O'Reilly who was appointed Archbishop of Cashel and Emly last year.

Archbishop O'Reilly has congratulated his successor and also paid tribute to Nenagh Parish Priest Des Hillary who took over the role in a caretaker capacity.
