The R498, which connects the two towns through Borrisleigh and Bouladuff, needs to be straightened to avoid any further damage.
The areas causing most concern are Knockalton Upper and the bends of Latteragh.
Local Independent Councillor Hughie McGrath says that there has to be an engineering solution to the issue before the road gets any worse.
